Requirements of the Lord: Deuteronomy 10.12-16

What does the LORD your God require of you, but to fear the LORD your God, to walk in all His ways and to love Him.

Deuteronomy 10.12

Who are you trying to impress?

· Spouse, parent or family member.

· Employer, teacher or supervisor.

· Friends, colleagues or associates.

Who should we be trying to impress?

1. Fear the Lord. V. 12

Awe, respect, loyalty, love.

2. Live to please God. V. 12

Align your priorities to his.

3. Love and serve him. V. 12

Our priorities must be the same as his.

4. Obey his commands. V. 13

Motivated by love rather than fear.

5. Change your hearts. V. 16

Seek to please God in everything you do.

6. Don’t be stubborn. V. 16

Open yourself to God and his ways.

Choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.

Joshua 24.15

Take Away Point-

My life should be focused on following Jesus and living by his ways.

Beginning today I will serve God.

From now on, his ways will be my priority.
