A Great Deliverance- Powerful Words: Genesis 50.15-26

You meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, to save many people alive. Do not be afraid; I will provide for you and your little ones.

Genesis 50.20-21

Update 6.1-

· Joseph is in a position of authority in Egypt

· Israel and his children are suffering from the famine in Canaan

· They requested food from Joseph

· Joseph was gracious and fed his family

· Israel and the whole clan moved to Egypt

Sticks and stones may break my bones…

I’m rubber and you’re glue…

That’s what you are, but…

Our words generally carry more power than our actions!

Jacob/Israel blessed Joseph’s sons (Genesis 48)

Jacob/ Israel blessed his own sons (Genesis 49)

1. Our words need to be a blessing to others.

2. Our words need to be edifying to ourselves.

3. Our words need to be glorifying to God.

4. Our words need to be creative.

5. Our words ought to be positive.

Think about your words!

Take Away Prayer

Lord,

Help me to measure my words.

Make me a blessing to others

in what I do and what I say.

Help me to be thoughtful of my words,

Always.

Amen.
