And that no purpose of Yours can be withheld from You.”

Common sins of the mouth

· Gossiping

· Lying

· Swearing

· Exaggerating/ embellishing

But there are others as well…

1. Speaking before you think. V. 3

I have uttered what I did not understand.

2. Speaking about what don't know. V. 3

Things too wonderful for me, which I did not know.

3. Speaking more than you listen. V. 4

Listen, please, and let me speak.

Some other thoughts-

· Do not make promises you cannot or will not keep.

· Do not make statements that will come back to haunt you.

· Do not take unnecessary oaths.

Do not swear, either by heaven or by earth or with any other oath. But let your “Yes” be “Yes,” and your “No,” “No,” lest you fall into judgment. James 5.12

Take Away Point-

My mouth is the most powerful tool I possess.

I should use it only for the glory of God.

I will use it only for the glory of God.
